Grill Chicken

  • 2 pieces of chicken drumstick
  • 2 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  1. Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients. If you have the time to spare, marinate it overnight.
  2. Grill the chicken in oven at 200 degree celcius for 45 mins, turn the chicken at 20mins time.

Black Pepper Chicken




  • 250g chicken fillet


  • 2 tablespoon of black pepper powder


  • One pinch of salt


  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoon of water


  • 2 pieces of cut shallot


  • 1 teaspoon of oil


  • Marinate for Chicken:


  • Salt


  • Pepper


  • Curry powder


  • Cornstarch





  1. Marinate chicken with the marinate ingredients. If possible, marinate over night.


  2. Heat up the oil, and saute the shallot.


  3. Add in the chicken fillet. Fry the chicken till it is cooked.


  4. Mix the pepper, salt, water and cornstarch.


  5. Add in the mixture to the chicken and let it thicken.


  6. Dish out and serve.

Sambal Prawn




  • 500g fresh prawn (remove the shell, leave the tail and deveined)


  • Sambal paste (refer to previous recipe)


  • 2 tablespoon of oil


  • 1 teaspoon of salt


  • 1 tablespoon of sugar


  • 2 tablespoon of tomato sauce


  • 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce


  • 1 cup of water


  • 3 tablespoon of thick coconut milk





  1. Clean the prawn.


  2. Heat up the oil and saute the sambal paste.


  3. Add in prawn and fry for one minute.


  4. Add in water and leave it at low fire for few minutes till prawn is cooked.


  5. Add in all other ingredients.

Sambal Paste






  • 1/2 piece of big red chilli

  • 2 tablespoon of dried chilli

  • 1 onion

  • 6 shallots

  • 1/2 clove of garlic

  • 3 pieces of clove (spices)

  • 1 stem of curry leaves

  • 1/2 piece of cinnamon stick (about 1/2cm width and 5cm length)

  • 2 pieces of cardamon (only the inside content)

  • 1 piece of star anise

  • 5 pieces of kafir lime leaves

  • 3 pieces of laksa leave (daun kesom)

  • 1 teaspoon of oil



  1. Blend all ingredients (except for the oil) till all ingredients get to small pieces. Add in the oil and blend for another 3minutes till the mixture is quite smooth.

Beggar Chicken




  • 1 whole chicken (washed)


  • 2 bunch of Chinese mushroom (cut to smaller pieces)


  • 1 small piece of cinnamon stick


  • 1 piece of star anise


  • 2 tablespoon of kie chi


  • 1 table spoon of tong kuai


  • 1 tablespoon of sugar


  • 2 teaspoon of salt


  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper


  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce


  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce





  1. Filled up all ingredients in the chicken, wrapped it with aluminium foil.


  2. Baked in oven for 65mins.

Reply - Vegetarian Rendang Mutton

I actually forgot to take the pic before we started eating. So it kinda look terrible, and I was so lazy to deco it too yesterday.

Vegetarian Rendang Mutton




  • 1 packed of vegetarian mutton


  • 1 packed of Maggi curry rendang mix


  • 2 cup of light santan (coconut milk)


  • 2 tbsp of oil


  • 1/2 big bombay onion chopped





  1. Fry onions till golden before adding in the mutton.


  2. Fry for about 2 minutes before adding in the santan mixed with curry rendang mix.


  3. Leave it to cook at low fire for 15 mins.
