Kuew Tiow Prawn Soup






  • 100g prawn shell

  • 2 tablespoon of oil

  • 3 cloves of chopped garlic

  • 1 shallot - chopped

  • 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 2 cups of water

  • 2 portion of kuew tiow

  • 6 pieces of prawn

  • 2 cups of cut cucumber

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce

  • 3 cloves of chopped garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of oil

  • 50g chopped pork

  • 3 pieces of mushroom, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon of chilli paste



  1. Saute shallot for a min, add in garlic and ginger.

  2. Add in prawn shell just before garlic turn golden.

  3. After 3 mins, add in water and sugar.

  4. Sieve and leave aside.

  5. Fry pork with oil, add in garlic. Add in prawn and fry till the prawn is cook. Set aside only the prawn.

  6. Stir in chilli and kuew tiow.

  7. Add in the prawn soup, salt and soy sauce.

  8. Once it boil, add in mushroom and cucumber.

  9. Dish and serve with prawn.
